Easy To Read Info About Coil Spring Repair!

Coil Spring Repair

Long Beach Coil Spring Repair

The coil spring is commonly on most modern vehicles, generally smaller vehicles like sedans. Coil spring have a helical appearance and goes around the struts or shocks. Although, on some vehicles, they are mounted individually.

Coil springs come in soft or hard variations, depending their use. As for example, if they are used on a heavy vehicle, the coil spring will be hard to offer maximum support for the large weight. Coil springs go to each wheel, forming a central compression zone. This comes in handy for a smooth Long Beach ride.

Coil springs have been around since the early 1900s, they’re prominence shot up during the ’70s with the change in automobile technology. Today’s springs have many applications due to their versatility. You find them on everything from standard sedans, to sports cars, vans, SUVs, and trucks.

The coil springs function is to support the vehicle at a desired height, to maintain alignment angles and to help absorb road shock transmitted through the tires and shock absorbers.

Continual flexing during normal use will gradually weakens your vehicles suspension system, which in turn allows the car to sag. Once this sag becomes pronounced, the entire vehicle is affected. Steering components are out of position, altering steering linkage geometry. The good new is what has been lost from the original coil spring can be completely repaired by installation of new set of coil springs. This will get your vehicle back to it’s factory correct height.

When to have your springs inspected and or replaced?

We recommend having your vehicles’ coil springs inspected at regular intervals along with your entire suspension system that can include struts, shocks, sway bar links, bushings and more. A quick visual inspection will detect any obvious sag from front to rear or from side to side. Upon visual inspection under your vehicle, we will look for the two ends of the control arms out of level, damaged or worn rubber bumpers and shiny or worn spring coils. All this can indicate weak coil springs. If you also live or often drive your vehicle in a colder climate where roads are often salted in winter weather, you should consider having your steering and suspension system checked more often due o the fact that salt can cause speed up your spring corrosion.

Below are some Auto Care tasks you can handle on your own and some that you should leave to the pros at Orozco’s Auto Service of Downtown Long Beach.

Personal Auto Care

OIL AND FLUID LEVELS
Every month, or every few gas fill-ups and especially before any longer road trips, it’s a good idea to open the hood of your car and check your fluids. This can include the oil, brake fluid, steering fluid, transmission fluid and coolant levels while the engine is cool. Low levels of either can lead to engine problems if left unchecked. Always refer to your owner’s manual to locate the inspection ports on your specific vehicle.

REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPERS
Windshield wipers usually need to be replaced about once a year due to the diversity of Los Angeles weather, or if the effectiveness of cleaning your windshield is compromised. One simple trick to check your wipers is use the windshield wiper-washer occasionally to check the effectiveness of your wipers before you’re stuck in the rain.

WAX VEHICLE
Waxing your vehicle every six months after washing it won’t just keep it shiny, it’ll also help to keep both the paint in good shape and help reduce the chance of rust. Many road irritants such as dust, sand, and winter road salt can build up and environmental factors like ozone and ultraviolet light can cause microscopic damage, but waxing can help minimize this by forming a protective seal to extend your paint’s life. Always consult with a professional to determine the best automotive wax for your vehicle.

VEHICLE LIGHTS
The lights on your vehicle aren’t just so you can see at night, they are also an import part of driving safely in day or night. Unfortunately, it’s a simple function of your vehicle that can be easily overlooked. Once a month, turn on your headlights when the vehicle parked in front of a flat surface and check that both headlights are working properly and well-positioned. Then walk around your vehicle and visually inspect both turn signals and your parking lights. Have a friend stand behind the car while you engage the brakes to be certain that your brake lights are functional. If you’re on your own you can always back close to a flat surface as stated before in reverse and see through your rear view mirrors if they are working.

TIRE PRESSURE
Now days with todays gas prices it’s more important that ever to have well-maintained tires that are not only safe but also fuel-efficient, make it a habit to visually inspect your tires often. Check your tire pressure every month, and before long trips or carrying an extra load. Don’t forget the spare. Always keep a tire pressure gauge in the vehicle, it will be needed to check your tire pressure. Also, during the colder months, note that tire pressure drops one pound with every 10 degree decrease in pressure. Your owner’s manual will tell you how much air pressure your tire needs.

AIR FILTER
Your engine’s air filter is what regulates air flow into your engine and help keep out debris and dust particulate. When you make certain that your air filter is flowing properly, you can also improve fuel efficiency, decrease your emissions, and help prolong the life of your engine. This can be done easily at home or a service station when you fill your tank, be sure to check your owner’s manual for instructions and how often it needs to be changed.

OIL & FILTER
The motor oil in your vehicle’s maintains several functions that include: lubricating moving parts, acting as a sealant against debris, helps cools the engine, reduces wear and tear, and helps prevent engine corrosion. Keeping your engine clean is vital for your engine’s good health. Depending on your vehicle and what kind of oil you use, you may need to change both the oil & oil filter every 3 months or 3000 miles. Many newer vehicles’ owners’ manuals will recommend changing your oil less frequently if they are using a synthetic or a synthetic bend oil – often in-between 5,000 and 10,000 miles. Check your vehicle owner’s manual and consult with a Orozco’s Auto Service professional to be certain what is appropriate for your vehicle.

TRANSMISSION FLUID
A lot like the oil in your engine, transmission fluid is a lubricant that helps keep all of the moving parts inside of your transmission functioning properly. Whether you’re driving an automatic or manual transmission vehicle, it is essential that you have your transmission fluid checked and changed when necessary to avoid costly transmission damage or even a replacement. Follow your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.

INSPECT SHOCKS AND STRUTS
The shocks and struts on your vehicle function to control the impact and rebound as your vehicle moves over bumps in the road and is an essential part of your vehicle’s suspension system. They should be inspected by a professional every 50,000 miles or bring your car into Orozco’s Auto Service if you notice a decrease in smoothness or loss of control when driving.

COOLANT FLUID EXCHANGE
The radiator in your car is a critical component that helps keep your engine cool and working properly. You should regularly have your coolant system flushed, it will help get rid of contaminants that can build up inside as well as ensure that your radiator is filled to the proper level. Always check your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation to find out how often your coolant should be changed.

SPARK PLUGS
Spark plugs ignite the gas and air mixture in your engine that ultimately powers your vehicle . If one or more of your spark plugs aren’t functioning properly, your engine will lose power and won’t run at optimal capacity. Have a professional check and replace any faulty spark plugs depending on the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations or if you feel a decrease in your engine’s power.

TIRE ROTATION
Depending on your vehicle usage, alignment, and several other factors, the tread wear patterns on your tires may vary between the front and back tires, or even from one side of the tread to the other. Rotating your tires will extend the service life of your tires by more evenly balancing the tread wear, and helping prevent noise and vibration problems.

SERPENTINE BELT
Although it may seem like a simple piece of rubber, your vehicle’s serpentine belt is essential to keeping your car running by powering peripheral devices such as your alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioner compressor. A simple visually inspection of the belt to ensure that it is free of cracks or other wear and tear. Replace id damaged or according to your vehicle manufacture’s recommendation.

FRONT AND/OR REAR DIFFERENTIAL
The differentials are devices that split the torque or power from the engine and allow it to send the proper amount of power to the tires. In front or rear-wheel drive vehicles, there is only one differential, but in 4-wheel and all-wheel drive vehicles, there is both a front and rear differentials, and possibly even a center differential. Like many parts of your vehicle, differentials need to be kept lubricated to ensure reliable functionality. Have a professional check and change fluid whenever your vehicle manufacturer recommends it.

TRANSFER CASE FLUID
In four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles, the transfer case is what shifts power from the transmission to the axles. You should have your transfer case fluid checked according to your vehicle’s manufacturer recommendations to be certain that it is properly filled and leak-free. This requires getting under the vehicle, so bringing it into Orozco’s Auto Service or an equivalent professional is recommended.

CHANGE TIRES
Tire wear can depend greatly on driving habits, the function of the vehicle, maintenance, and the road surfaces you regularly drive on. Realizing when you need new tires may be a little tricky for some. They’re curious to know if they absolutely need to replace their tires. There’s a simple answer to all of these kinds of questions; a new set of quality tires will alleviate the stress of worrying about the safety and performance of the tires you have right now. One simple test is to place a penny between the tread grooves with the top of Lincoln’s head nearest to the tire. If you can see any space above the top of the head, it’s a good time to replace your tires. If you feel you need new tires for any reason stop into Orozco’s Auto Service for a complete inspection.

BATTERY CHECK
Batteries are one of the most important components for your vehicle. Car batteries supplies large amounts of electrical current for the starter, engine and other electronic accessories in the vehicle. Extreme temperatures in our desert can affect the performance of your batteries life so regular battery testing will ensure that battery will perform at it’s best.

Always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you! If you believe your vehicle needs some Auto Care attention contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Downtown Long Beach.

Maintenance Tip: You should always get your air filter changed every 12 months or 12,000 mile, sometimes more in a dry dusty climate.

One of the key elements of your vehicle’s suspension is the shocks and struts, these help maintain a smooth ride, and ignoring this issue can help to prematurely wear out your tires.

Your coolant affects so many elements of you car from air conditioner to the heater, radiator and water pump and more. Something that impacts that much of your car’s overall health should never be neglected.

The last thing anyone wants to find while you’re digging out the jack is a flat spare tire. That’s when you’ll need to call a tow truck—which not only can take several hours out of your day or night, it can also cost you a lot of money depending on where your vehicle brakes down.

Maintenance Tip: Check your tires air pressure, including the spare at least once a month. Maintaining the appropriate air pressure will also help you save gas.

Brake Repair Advice From Orozco’s Long Beach

Brake Pads brake repair

Long Beach Brake Repair

Brake repair is something that should never be neglected. With that being said, one of your cars most important elements besides your engine are the brakes. Your engine makes you move but the brakes make you stop. Unfortunately, most Long Beach drivers don’t think too much about their brakes, until they stop working. To help avoid that scary thought we would like to share some of the signs that it’s time to get your brakes inspected. One of the most common failures of your brake are the brake pads. If they are routinely inspected you can get them replaced before they cause any serious damage to your vehicle. While prices can vary based on you type of vehicle, the cost is still relatively inexpensive compared to a complete brake system overhaul.

For the majority of newer vehicles, the front wheels braking system depend on large metal discs called “rotors”. The rotors are mounted behind each wheel. Above each rotor is a clamping mechanism called a “caliper”. When you apply pressure on the brake pedal, the calipers will start to close, squeezing the rotors from both sides. This action creates friction, and as a result slows your vehicle until it comes to a safe stop.

Brake pads, per the name are exactly that. Pads that are mounted inside the calipers to make contact with the rotors during the previously mentioned process. Unfortunately, brake pads won’t last forever. Additionally, the friction stopping process will eventfully wear down. Depending on your driving habits and if you travel freeway versus city can also take a toll on the pads, making them wear out quicker. When your brake pads get to worn they won’t work as well as they should. If this happens you may need brake repair and that’s when to visit or schedule a free appointment with the experts at Orozco’s Auto Service.

Possible brake problem tips:

Clicking noises
Some vehicles, brake pads fit snugly into a special holding device. Other vehicles keep them steady with pins, clips or bolts. The common goal behind these designs is to keep the brake pads from wobbling. If they become loose, they will begin to rattle. What happens next is a clicking sound that rings out when the brake pedal is pushed or released.

Stopping takes longer than it used to
This is called “brake fade.” This is usually a result of applying the brakes over a vast distance without bringing the car to a full stop. Sometime this can be a bad driving habit know as ridding the brake, some people are overly cautious which can wear on your brakes. This can also happen while driving down a mountainside or over winding roads. However, if you live in an area will lots of hills you ridding the brakes may not be avoidable—but, over time it will take a toll on your braking system.

Your car pulls to one side when braking
Brake pads don’t always wear out at the same rate. Depending on your daily Long Beach commute, following the same turns day after day can result in uneven wear. Should this occur, your vehicle may pull slightly to one side or the other when you use the brakes. Leaving this problem unchecked can put unnecessary stress on your vehicles suspension like the ball joints, steering knuckles, wheel bearings and more.

Screeching noises
Most brake pads are built with “wear indicators.” Wear indicators are small metal tabs located near the top of typical brake pads. When the brake pad wears down an unsafe level, the indicator will scrape against the rotor. This creates a distinctive grating noise which warns drivers that the brake pads are in immediate need of service. If you ignore this to long the pads can completely wear our forcing your vehicle to stop with metal grinding on metal that will destroy your rotors and lead to complete brake failure.

Vibrations when the brake is pressed
If your brake pedal shakes whenever you step on it your brake pads may be the problem. Brake pads are typically held together with a binding resin. As each brake pad wears down, this adhesive gets hot and can get smeared across the rotor. Under the best of  circumstances, it will form a layer that’s evenly spread over the disc’s surface. But if a brake pad gets overheated, the resin may not be distributed uniformly. This is called this issue “glazing” and it can cause brake pedals to vibrate.

If your vehicle is showing any of the above signs, or you feel your vehicle’s brake system needs service or are not sure and would like to have your brakes inspected, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Long Beach Downtown Tire Sales Near Me

Bellflower Tire Sales Near Me

Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown specializes in new tire sales for all types of vehicles. Whether you drive a car, truck, sports car or SUV we’ve got your tires. We offer competitive prices and the quality of our products are never compromised. We offer a large variety of tires of top brands like NEXEN, Bridgestone, B.F. Goodrich, Hankook, Pirelli, Michelin, Goodyear, Toyo and numerous other unparalleled brands in the market.

Many of Long Beach drivers may choose to replace their worn OEM (original equipment manufacturer) tires with aftermarket tires. Whether it is in the interest of saving money or changing their vehicle’s performance traits. If you decide to change tires, any of our certified service advisors will be able to suggest alternative models that best fits your needs.

If you were happy with the performance of your previous tires, you can of course replace them with the same model. Most auto companies spend thousands of dollars in research and development and work with tire makers to choose the tires that best suit their vehicles. But OEM tires can be much more expensive than aftermarket ones, especially when you get them through the dealership.

If you’re thinking about trying a different type of tire, you should choose one that best matches your driving habits, preferences, and local road conditions. “Touring” tires may provide a smoother ride, but performance may slightly suffer. On the other hand, high performance tires may enable you to turn, stop, and accelerate quicker but can be a noisier ride and cause a less comfortable ride. All-season tires can provide passable performance in most conditions, but will be heavily out performed by dedicated “summer” or winter tires, and lastly “economy” tires may be cheap and noisy with mediocre performance but are what works for you’re budget. Used tires are never recommended, but if your budget or untimely lose of a tire only allows for used tires make sure to check that they are still safe for use.

How do you know when you should get your vehicle new tires? Always pay attention to your vehicle’s performance, tire tread depth, and the age of your tires. A general rule is that if a tire is more than six years old, even if they look new and have never been driven on, they should be inspected thoroughly before use. The tires rubber can become brittle as it ages and this can lead to tire failure or loss of performance. As a consumer, you have the right to demand newer tires if you are buying them from a retailer. To determine the date of a tire’s manufacture, look for a series on the sidewall that begins with “DOT”. The last four numbers in this sequence will tell you the week and year that a tire was made. For example, 2622 means that the tire was made in the 26th week of 2022.

We recommend that you start shopping for new tires when your tread wears to 4/32 of an inch. This is just enough tread to sluice away water and keep your tires in contact with the road. The most common tread depth on new tires is 10/32 of an inch. The legal minimum in most states is 2/32 of an inch.

Wear Bars. Manufacturer’s place wear bars in the grooves between tire treads. Replace your tires before the tread wears flush with the bars. Even on dry pavement, it takes longer to stop with bald tires. On wet pavement, you may not be able to avoid a hazard in time.

The Tire Tread Quarter Test. A Washington quarter, placed upside down in the tread grooves at several points, is a helpful gauge in determining a safe tread depth. From the coin edge to the top of Washington’s head is 4/32 inch.

The Tire Tread Penny Test. To be legal in most states, your tires must pass the Lincoln penny test. From the coin edge to the top of Lincoln’s head is 2/32 inch.

Taking Care of Your New Tires

Rotate your tires. This helps ensure that your tires wear evenly. Most tire manufacturers recommend a 6,000-8,000 mile interval. It’s great way to remember to rotate your tires is have it done when you’re in for an oil change.

Always keep your tires inflated to the recommended pressure. Your vehicle won’t handle well if your cars are too soft or too hard. Under or over inflation can even cause a blowout. Consult your owner’s manual or check the vehicle placard for the specified PSI (pounds per square inch) for your tires. (See Tire Size above.) Properly inflated wear tires wear evenly and can help you get up to 3% better gas mileage.

Periodic alignment checks and suspension checks. Even under the best conditions your wheels will move slightly out of alignment over time. This can result in them fighting for control over each other, reduce fuel efficiency, and cause premature tread wear. And worn shocks, struts, and other suspension components can also effect the life of your tire.

Always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you! If you believe your tires are worn out or are not sure and would like to have them checked, contact Orozco’s Auto Service today.

Long Beach Downtown Auto Air Conditioning Repair Near Me

Auto AC Condensers & Evaporators Repair

Long Beach Downtown Auto Air Conditioning Repair

Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown is your best choice for local air conditioning repair. Your vehicle’s air conditioning system is responsible for keeping you comfortable throughout the year. As part of your overall climate control it keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. So you might think that it only needs to be repaired to restore the cold cabin temperatures that keep you comfortable in Long Beach Downtown’s hot summers. That’s only part of the story, drivers need to know that a malfunctioning climate control system can cause harm to some of your vehicle’s other major systems year round.  Some Auto Air Conditioning problems can result in leaks that bleed corrosive fluid onto other components within your engine compartment. If neglected you may end up needing more than just Auto Air Conditioning Repair.

Below are a few signs that you may need Automotive A/C service:

Foul odor coming from your A/C system. Unpleasant odors coming from your car’s vents are usually caused by a dirty, old air cabin filter or a moldy evaporator case. We can clean your A/C lines, evaporator and ventilation system. Then add a biocide used to kill all bacteria, mold and fungi. The ventilation system and interior are deodorized. The air inside your vehicle will be much healthier, smell great and the A/C will run 4 to 5 degrees cooler due to increased efficiency.

A/C system starts out cold but gets warm. There are several possible causes for this problem: a faulty compressor clutch, a clogged expansion valve, a bad fuse or wire, or leaks may all cause this symptom.

Weak airflow. One of the main causes for weak airflow can be mold or mildew accumulating in the evaporator core from moisture or condensation from regular operation, a hose coming loose and decreasing air pressure, ventilation fan failure, or seals coming loose and diminishing airflow.

A/C system isn’t as cold as it used to be. A/C losing its frigidity can be caused by a number of reasons, including a Freon leak caused by a loose seal, gasket, hose, or component, a clogged hose or tube, a failed compressor or component, a failed blower motor, a damaged or failed condenser or evaporator, vacuum leaks, or a failed switch, relay, fuse, or solenoid. A leak in the A/C system can end up compromising the entire system. If you or your mechanic discovers the leak early, then it most likely will not have damaged as many parts, and your repair will not be as expensive.

Timing Belt Repair Near Me

Serpentine Belt Replacement

Many people have never heard of a timing belt even though it’s one of your engine’s components that could mean it’s time for a new engine if ignored. This due to the fact that if your timing belt wears out your complete engine can seize up immediately. Luckily there’s Orozco’s Auto Service and they can help you prevent this type of disaster with some simple maintenance and or replacing your timing belt.

What Is A Timing Belt?

Essentially, the timing belt or in some vehicles the timing chain keeps the top half of your engine (valves) synced to the bottom half (crankshaft). Simple put, the timing belt is a ribbed belt that is run in a specific setup on one side of a vehicle’s engine to keep the crankshaft and camshafts timed properly. Many vehicles today have a timing chain that is more reliable but still needs replacing eventually. Many older vehicle’s engines run with a timing belt. The best way to determine if your vehicle has a timing belt or a chain is to refer to your vehicles maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual. Or stop by Orozco’s Auto Service Long Beach Downtown and one of our ASE trained Service Advisors can look it up for you. Generally  manufacturer’s recommend a maintenance schedule for timing belt replacement differs between vehicles, most timing belts should be replaced every 60,000 miles or 5 years – whichever comes sooner.

There are two types of engine timing configurations that employ timing belts: interference and non-interference. An interference engine means that the valve’s stroke and piston’s stroke occupy the same space in the cylinder at different times, so the timing belt keeps them from colliding with each other. If the timing belt snaps, the cylinder and valves will most likely hit each other, which most commonly causes bent valves but can also result in cylinder head or camshaft damage, and possibly piston and cylinder wall damage. It is possible to get lucky and not suffer any damage from a snapped timing belt on an interference engine, but very unlikely. On a non-interference engine, pistons and valves never occupy the same space, so if the timing belt snaps, no valve or cylinder damage should occur, and theoretically, replacing the broken timing belt will revert your engine to normal function.

If you’re thinking of changing your vehicle’s timing belt, it’s not just a simple task like changing your oil. if you do it wrong, especially on an interference-type engine, this can result in much more severe and expensive damage. At Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown our certified ASE trained technicians have the experience to replace all types of timing belts and timing chains on all makes and models. Additionally, all of our work is also back by a NAPA nationwide 2 year, 24,000 warranty and mile for a nominal fee can easily be extended to 3 years and 36,000. Also we know that there’s never a convenient time for a large repair, and that’s why we offer easy financing (OAC) to help get you back on the road as soon as possible.

What To Know About Diesel Engine Repair

Diesel Repair

Car & Truck Diesel Engine Repair – Long Beach Downtown

Imagine hopping into your diesel vehicle and head down Long Beach Blvd. and suddenly notice heavy black smoke extruding from your vehicle (more than normal) or your engine is begins making more noise than a Big Ben. These are just a couple of signs that indicate it may be time for some diesel engine repair. Although diesel engines are a very durable and reliable engine, but unfortunately like like most machines they still break down eventually. With that being said and if you are looking for a reliable and affordable diesel engine technician, try Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown.

As highly-skilled ASE technicians, we take pride in diagnosing any diesel engine problem and providing affordable repairs. We know these types of engines inside and out. Since we are skilled at repairing all types of problems, you can trust our technicians to ensure the repair job is done right the first time. It takes more than the right tools to repair a diesel engine. Unlike standard gasoline engines, diesel engine systems use their own compression to ignite fuel. They have significantly more compression in the chamber than gas-powered engines. This means that the air-to-gas mixture is very different as well. Due to the extreme compression, external sparking is not necessary. Built without spark plugs, a diesel engine runs more efficiently using glow plugs. Many of the new models can go for 500,000 miles without the need for a rebuild. At the first sign of any problem, it’s important to bring your vehicle to Orozco’s for diesel engine repair.

We know diesel engine repair for all makes and models. Below are a few more signs that you may have problems with your diesel engine. Stalling engine, lower running RPMs, acceleration issues, engine is difficult to start, electrical problems and more.

Orozco’s Auto Service also offers many maintenance services like “Diesel Induction Service”. A fuel induction service that is typically not part of the mileage-based maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual. Although, it should still be part of your vehicle’s maintenance routine. We recommend it every 60,000 miles or whenever you notice performance issues. Typically, diesel fuel will oxidize and form residues that deposit in fuel injectors and combustion chambers. These deposits will drastically affect the engines performance by clogging fuel injectors and creating irregular spray patterns. This service is designed for concentrated cleaning of the injection pump and injectors.

If you think your diesel engine car or truck is showing any of the above symptoms or are not sure and would like to have it diagnosed, contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Remember always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Some Quick Info About Brake Pads

Brake Pads brake repair

Long Beach Bixby Pads Replacement

Drivers in Long Beach, Downtown  are asking “what components of my vehicle should I be most concerned about?” We tell them “the are the brakes of course, in particularly, the brake pads”. Your brakes are what makes your vehicle stop. They’re also one of the components that when they wear out over time can be a huge safety risk. This due to the fact that because as we all know what happens if you can’t stop when you need to. The reason that they wear out is due to the fact that they use friction to help you vehicle stop.  But on the other hand, all that friction will eventually takes a toll on your brakes and over time is shows. Brake pads are made up of materials engineered to slow your vehicle without destroying the brake pad and brake disc each time contact is made, although, there is a slight bit of wear each time they are used. Years ago brake pads used to be made of asbestos. Until it was discovered that asbestos was a carcinogen and associated with causing certain types of cancers and  that element was eventually fazed out of production. Now days auto manufacturers have engineered several new materials for making brake pads. These are generally named organic, semi-metallic and ceramic.

Organic –  Organic brake pads made from materials like rubber, glass, and Kevlar. They are softer than other types of brake pads, and make for a quieter slowing experience. As a softer material they tend to wear more sooner and create more dust and debris as they wear down. Additionally, because of their softer make, they don’t offer as much stopping power making them generally suited for light cars that don’t see heavy use.

Semi-Metallic – Semi-metallic pads, sometimes referred to as metallic pads, are a more sturdy product. As per their name, they are made from metal, such as iron shavings or bits of steel wire held together with graphite. Metal usually makes up about 30 to 65 percent of the brake pad, thus the name “semi-metallic”. Because metallic brake are hard, they provide good stopping power, but they put more wear on brake rotors / discs. The hard pads are also noisier than organic pads. Another con  is that metallic brake pads need to warm up before they work at their best. In very cold weather, they can take longer to achieve their maximum efficiency, so caution is always advised until your vehicle is fully warmed up.

Ceramic – Ceramic brake pads are even more durable. As you may have guessed per the name they are mostly made from ceramic materials, sometimes with small amounts of copper. The ceramics are better at dissipating heat, which helps keep them from wearing as quickly as other materials. Unfortunately,  that can mean that the rotors take on more heat, which can lead to warping the rotors. Ceramic pads tend to be more expensive. Ceramic pads are also lighter, which, paired with their heat resistance, makes them well suited to motorsport or aggressive driving. They also produce the least brake dust of any type of brake pads, and less noise than semi-metallic pads.

How often should you have your brakes checked

Most vehicles have a few ways to tell if you need brake service. Some brake systems have a metal scraper attached to the pads that creates a warning alarm by squealing or screeching when they wear to a certain level. Even though the sound is very disconcerting and annoying it’s usually harmless, unless ignored. If the noise is less of a screech and more of a grumbling, grinding sound, the pads at one or all of the wheels may be completely worn, and continued use of your vehicle can cause serious damage to the rotor(s). If you hear grinding when slowing down you should contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown ASAP. Most all vehicle’s today have brake-pad sensors that let the driver when the brakes need be checked via a warning light on the dash or a message showing when you start your vehicle. You should never wait to replace the brake pads, considering functional brakes are a top priority. From a safety standpoint, they are more important than the engine. Due to the fact, a poorly maintained engine could result in engine needing a new engine. But poorly maintained brakes can be life-threatening.

To be sure that your vehicle is always able to make the safest stops, we recommend changing the brakes before they exhibit the irregularities mentioned above. Your vehicle’s owner’s manual should have recommendations for inspecting the pads at every oil change because the life of brake-pad can vary greatly, depending on your driving style, whether and driving conditions. Brake pads should always be replaced when they reach their service limit, which is usually measured at about 0.1 inch.

If your vehicle is showing any of the above signs or you believe your vehicle’s needs new brake or are not sure and would like to have your brakes inspected, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown today at 562-920-1871.  Always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

What To Do For Automotive Electric Seat Repair

Automotive Electric Seat Repair

Long Beach Downtown Power Seat Repair

Power Seat Repair – When you’re driving down Long Beach Blvd., you want to be comfortable and be looking good – and in today’s high tech vehicles that comfort comes in the shape of a luxurious power seat.  Many vehicles today come with elaborate power seats that do a lot more than keeping your feet on the peddles. Power seats can automatically move in a many directions satisfying all your ergonomics needs, with some warming your seat. So lets take a look at some of the mechanics of those hi tech seats. When you engage the power seat controls the seat triggers motors which then moves your seat forward, backwards, adjusts lumbar support and heat seats just to name a few of the many comfort options. Including allowing you to find the optimal placement of your seat, so that the peddles are the right where you need them.

The bad news is with all those electronic options, power seats and their controls have a greater chance of braking than the older manual controlled seats. When that power seat switch fails, the seats can’t move, and you won’t be able to adjust the placement of your seat. While this may not be a serious problem – you may not be able to see well or operate your vehicle if you can’t reach the peddles. Also,  it’s common for debris to get stuck in the tracks, preventing the seat from moving. However, if cleaning the debris doesn’t resolve the problem, your seat or switches may need to be repaired or replaced. If the switches are working and there is no debris, but your seat still does not move, you may have a malfunctioning power seat motor or a short in one of the wires going to the switch or motor. Something that only an ASE certified technician can handle, just like the technicians employed at Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown!

Power seat switches are usually located on the seat or door panel. Those switches send power to the seat motors, allowing you to move your seat in several directions. If the switch malfunctions, then the seat may no longer move, or its movement may be limited. The majority of the time to repair power seats, they must first be removed, then the motors, and then the switches and wiring need to be inspected. Once the source of the problem is found, it must be repaired or replaced, then everything must be reassembled & thoroughly tested.

If your vehicle’s power seat is frozen, malfunctioning or moving unusually slowly, or If you have questions regarding Power Seat Repair contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Rear Differential Repair or Replace – Click To Learn More

Rear Differential Repair

Long Beach, Downtown Rear Differential Repair

If you go out to your car and notice tire damage on the sidewall or outer tread of a tire, your car becomes difficult to handle and doesn’t easily steer around corners well, the sound of grinding gears or a whining noise are also indicators that you should have your differential checked. Luckily, Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown has the know how to repair or replace this critical component of your vehicle. Our ASE certified mechanics can repair your differential or transaxle in no time and back up that repair with a NAPA nationwide 2 year, 24,000 mile warrant.

But what is a rear differential? Well many Long Beach, Downtown drivers aren’t aware of their vehicles differential until something goes seriously wrong. Don’t worry, Orozco’s Auto Service would like to share some helpful information regarding your vehicle’s differential. Before front wheel drive came along, the majority of vehicles had a rear differential with a few exceptions such as Corvairs and Volkswagens. Four wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles also have different types of differentials. Nowadays and as before every vehicle has a some type of differential or transaxle, whether you have a rear one or not depends on the drive system. So what is a differential and how does it impact my vehicle?

If your vehicle has front-wheel drive, then it uses a front differential that is next to the transmission in a unit called the transaxle. A vehicle with rear-wheel drive has a rear differential that sits between the rear wheels and connects to the transmission through the drive shaft. Both front and rear differentials do the same thing, which is ensuring the your wheels move smoothly when you move around corners— just from different locations. But why does it smooth out your turns you ask? Simply put, a differential is a system that transmits your engine’s torque to the wheels. The differential takes the power from the engine and divides it, allowing the wheels to spin at different speeds when needed. Think of it as a marching band moving around a corner. The people on the outside of the turn take longer strides than the people on the inside to keep everyone in a perfect line. A differential acts in the same way for a car. It compensates for how the inner wheels don’t have to travel as far to get around a corner as the outer wheels.

As previously mentioned, four wheel drive vehicles have two differentials making things a bit different on these all terrane vehicles. Additionally all-wheel-drive vehicle has a third type of differential called a center differential. It helps distribute power between the front and rear axles since both do the job of steering your car. With four-wheel drive, there is a front and rear differential that’s called a transfer case located in the middle to manage and deliver power to all four wheels. These systems have the same goal as the others: ensuring smooth turns keeping the wheels from skipping or jumping.

If you’ve notice any of the previously mentioned signs of a failing differential, or If you would like to have your vehicle inspected, contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Fuel Pump Repair Answers From The Pros

Automotive Fuel System Service

Long Beach, Downtown Fuel Pump Repair

Fuel pump repair can be a complicated job because in most vehicles it’s inside the gas tank. Fortunately, Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown is always there to help you out with any of your fuel injection issues, including sharing this valuable information. Your vehicle’s fuel pump is the heart of your vehicle’s fuel system. And like your heart pumping blood throughout your body, the fuel pump sends precious fuel through your vehicle and if that fuel runs out so will your engine. The good news is, a faulty fuel pump isn’t a very common issue in newer vehicles but when you get a few years worth of miles on your odometer your vehicles key components start to wear our.

As we mentioned before, most fuel pumps are located inside the gas tank attached to a float and electrical connections that send information to your vehicle’s gas gage. It sucks up fuel and sends it through lines to your engine’s injectors, which meter out the proper amount of fuel for the most efficient combustion in your engine. Today’s fuel pumps meet manufacturer specifications for fuel volume. If it doesn’t meet up to these strict standards, you’re engine will run into all sorts of problems.

Here are some of the more common signs that your fuel pump is starting to wear out. Your vehicle can suddenly feels sluggish or a faulty ignition, engine misfires, lowered gas mileage, weak acceleration and a whining noise can all mean you may want to visit Orozco’s Auto Service before getting stranded.

Other issues may be low fuel pressure, you may have trouble starting your vehicle. It may crank longer than normal before firing up, or you might have to cycle the ignition on and off a few times to prime the necessary pressure. Once it starts, you might get a rough idle or stuttering while driving up hills or upon acceleration. On some occasions it may misfires or even just stall out and die completely.

Additional signs are that your engine temperature is higher than usual, as it struggles to keep up with uneven fuel supply. Occasionally, a failing pump will cause an engine to surge, because it’s no longer capable of consistent volume. You might hear the fuel pump itself struggling, which sounds like a whining or loud buzzing noise coming from your gas tank. Lastly, you may notice at the gas station when filling your tank: a failing fuel pump can reduce engine efficiency, which means your decrease mileage, something nobody wants these days.

Note that most of the above symptoms on their own may have other causes, but if you see one or more together, then it’s time to contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown for a conclusive diagnosis today at 562-426-6322 or stop by. Remember to always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

When To Replace Spark Plugs

Replace Spark Plugs

Replace Spark Plugs

Not a lot of people in Long Beach, Downtown are aware of how important their spark plugs are. They are the spark that powers your vehicle’s engine to run and when they begin to wear out it affect’s your entire vehicle. Some of these signs that your spark plugs are fading is your car or truck feels a bit sluggish or your mileage isn’t what it used to be and then you remember in the morning when you started your vehicle it took a few attempts. If your vehicle is showing any of these signs, it may be time to replace spark plugs. And if ignored for to long you may not be able to start your vehicle and the worst expected time. At Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown our certified ASE mechanics are more than qualified to determine if these problems are indeed a spark plugs issue.

Many people may not be aware of what exactly a spark plug is. Simple put- it’s a fairly basic component with no moving parts, it’s an insulator and a central conductor. Spark plugs are specified by their size, specifically by nut or thread, sealing type and spark gap. The majority of today’s vehicles have a 14-mm thread; older vehicles had used 18-mm or 7/8-inch (approximately 22-mm) ones. Thread length varies as well, depending on the vehicle manufacturer and type of engine. The sealing type or seat is where the plug mates to the head. It can be flat or tapered again, depending on the manufacturer and engine type. Additionally, the amount of torque applied during installation ensures a secure fit. Typically, there is one plug for each cylinder, but there are exceptions. For example, the V8 Hemi engines used in various Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler products have 16 plugs, two per cylinder.

These days, spark plugs have a much longer life than say vehicles in the last millennium, with some lasting as much as 100,000 miles. Additionally, many years ago most vehicles required a tune-up once a year to replace spark plugs and adjust points. Unfortunately, even with today’s high-tech spark plugs they do still wear out, and if you’re finding it difficult to start your vehicle, it could mean that your spark plugs have met the end of their life. Some visual clues may also reveal a bad spark plug. If you remove the plug from the cylinder and notice that the end has a burned or sandy looking deposits accumulated on the outer electrode, then it’s time to replace them. In a worst-case scenario, a wet accumulation of oil on the electrode may indicate not only that the spark plug is bad but also that there’s significant engine problem with oil leaking into the cylinders.

Other troubling signs may include a rough idle, engine misfire or surge, weak acceleration or a spike in fuel consumption. In some vehicles the “check engine” light may come on. Feel free to visit Orozco’s Auto Service to have your vehicle’s check engine light diagnosed.

Changing spark plugs is a key part of keeping your engine in good working order. Be sure to get yours replaced at the manufacturer’s recommended intervals to ensure peak engine performance. You can find this information in your vehicles user manual. If you feel your vehicle may need new spark plugs or would like to have your vehicle diagnosed contact Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Remember to always keep your vehicle in good running condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Power Steering Repair and Troubleshooting Recommendations

Power Steering Repair

Long Beach, Downtown Power Steering Repair

Have you ever begun making a turn onto Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach and thought what would happen if my power steering went out? Of course this is a very rare scenario, but if it does happen, first of all, don’t panic. Your vehicle’s power steering provides you with an electronic or hydraulic assist in turning your front wheels. If you’re moving at a decent speed you may not even notice it, until you start to slow down. At that point turning the steering wheel is difficult but with a little strength you will be able to pull over and make it to a safe place to stop or visit your friends at Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown.

So besides not panicking another simple but important thing you should do is communicate. As in any emergency situation on or off the road is it’s vital to let others around you know that something has gone wrong. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to turn on your hazard lights so that everyone around you can see that there’s a problem and you’re starting to slow down or that there may be an issue with your vehicle.  Whenever getting into a new vehicles it’s always a good idea to locate were the hazard lights button is located.

As you gently lower your speed, keep a firm grip on the wheel at all times and don’t hit your brakes too hard, especially if the road conditions are slick from snow or rain. Lack of power steering will make the steering wheel feel heavier than normal as you turn, and it will also make the front wheels less responsive to your actions. Maintain keeping calm and ease into the brakes slowly.

Next, you should look for a safe spot on the side of the road where you can pull over safely. You will still be able to steer the vehicle, even if it’s more difficult. Remember that turning the wheel requires more effort as your vehicle slows. Give yourself as much room to turn as possible. Even though the turning radius of the vehicle hasn’t changed, your ability to make that turn quickly will be reduced.

Once you get your vehicle to a safe spot, if the power steering is completely out, this may be a good time to call for a tow truck or Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown to help you arrange a tow. Driving a vehicle with no power steering can be a challenge for even the best of drivers, so if you don’t feel safe driving, always side with caution and get help.

There Are Two Kinds of Power Steering

The Hydraulic Power Steering System relies on the engine’s power, a hydraulic pump, and the hydraulic fluid to steer the vehicle. With the combination of the hydraulic pump and the vehicle’s engine, it applies force on the steering gear by pumping hydraulic fluid to the power steering pump. The power steering fluid is stored in a depressurized form within the power steering reservoir, and only when needed the power steering pump pressurizes the fluid and deliver it to assist you’re steering.

Electrical Power Steering relies on an electrical motor and sensors on the steering column. By analyzing the input from the steering wheel, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) then sends a signal to an electronic motor, that is located at the base of the steering column.

There are some signs that every driver can be aware of that your power steering may soon be in need of repair.  The steering wheel could be difficult turning. You may notice a whining or squealing noise. You may notice leaking red power steering fluid near the steering gear or rack. Your vehicle may be pulling to one side, which could be a steering gear is worn and or can be caused by lack of lubrication from power steering fluid.

If you are concerned about any of your power steering or you would like to have your steering inspected call the experts at Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Please remember to always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

What To Look For Re: Reliable Engine Repair

Oil and Filter Service

Long Beach, Downtown Engine Repair & More

So, let just say you’re driving down Long Beach Boulevard and suddenly your vehicle starts to make a new noise,  or there’s an odd looking smoke coming from your exhaust pipe or a few new drops of oil on your driveway. These may are all be scenarios of some minor problems but ever though they’re minor they shouldn’t be neglected. We all know there’s always so many other costs going on in life and you’re never ready to have to spend that hard earned money on your vehicle. Even our Long Beach weekend DIY mechanics sometimes put off these repairs because it’s a dirty job or it takes up an entire day off to fix. But if not addressed these types of minor issues may stop you from maintaining your regular driving routine, and if ignored for too long you may need a tow truck. Here are few of those repairs you should definitely not put off for too long before they become a costly repair.

WORN SHOCKS / STRUTS
Worn out shocks and struts don’t show to many signs they are wearing out. It’s not like they go bad overnight, but when they are at the end of their service life they may as well not be there at all. Shocks and struts take a lot of abuse like pot holes and speed bumps and that would normally be transmitted to other chassis components. Without that initial protection, those chassis parts wear out quick. Shocks are usually fairly straightforward to replace, and strut replacement has become easier thanks to the availability of modular strut assemblies. Thankfully, if you don’t have the time or resources Orozco’s Auto Service does. And once the job is done, the difference will be immediately apparent to you and your vehicle.

FLUID LEAKS
If you have been regularly topping off your oil for too long rather than finding the leak, it is time to schedule an appointment with Orozco’s Auto Service. We all know small fluid drip may be an annoyance on your driveway, it can also coat your engine and damage other sensitive components. Delaying that power steering pump leak repair will sure seem silly when it floods into the alternator and your vehicle doesn’t start Monday morning. So do yourself and your driveway a favor and call the pros at Orozco’s Auto Service.

EXHAUST LEAKS
While the noise from an exhaust leak can sometimes be fixed by turning up the radio, an exhaust leak can also lead to dangerous carbon monoxide fumes finding their way into the passenger compartment. In extreme cases a leak can also burn or melt nearby components. Unfortunately they can also be hard to track down, especially when buried in the engine compartment. Cast iron manifolds can crack, bolts can break, gaskets can fail, and exhaust pipes can rust through. The straight forward repair is to let Orozco’s Auto Service repair it before it’s too late.

FAILING CV AXLES
Remember way back when you were warned your CV boot is torn on the drivers side? But there’s no way to know just when the joint inside will start to fail. If you’re hearing a clicking and popping when turning left or right, then it’s time for new axles. Waiting on this repair too long could lead to dangerous driveline vibrations and possibly even failure of the axle assembly itself. Make the time and contact Orozco’s Auto Service.

If your vehicle is showing any of the above signs or are not sure and would like to have your vehicle diagnosed, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Remember to always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

When Should You Change Your Air Filter

Change You Air Filter

Long Beach, Downtown Cabin Air Filter & Engine Air Filter Replacement

Almost all drivers in Long Beach, Downtown know about their vehicle’s engine air filter but most drivers aren’t aware that there is another one inside the passengers cabin. Even less people know how valuable they both are are in keeping you and your vehicle healthy. As we all know the more commonly know filter is the engine’s air filter, the other and less known but just as important is the cabin air filter. They both do as they are described, meaning they “filter air” but work in different areas of your vehicle. Additionally, not all drivers are aware that your air filters should be replaced at the intervals recommended by your vehicles manufacturer. But even that might not be frequent enough. If you drive in dusty areas like the freeways in and around Long Beach, and particularly if are doing and off-roading, filters can get dirty quicker, and need to be replaced more often than what’s recommended.

Here’s a look at both types of filters

Engine Air Filters: This filter maintains one of the three essential element that keep your engine running. All combustion engines both standard gasoline or diesel engine require air, fuel and fire to run. The engine air filter reduces contaminates like dirt, bugs, dust, leaves, debris and anything else that may get sucked into your vehicle’s air intake system. Once the air filter has reached it’s limits of capacity for all that debris it will start effecting your engine. You may notice reduced fuel economy, performance, strange noises coming from your engine, misfiring cylinders or your check engine light make come on. Thankfully, this can all be avoided by visiting Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown getting an inspection of your vehicles air intake system.

Cabin Air Filter: This filter is sometimes less know due to the fact that it’s usually hidden in a compartment behind or under your glovebox. The cabin air filter maintains the air that comes into your vehicle through your heating and air conditioning system. Essentially acting as an air purifier for inside your vehicle. Nobody wants to breathe in dirty air, if your cabin air filter is dirty, then you may notice reduced air circulation, diminished performance of your air conditioning and heating, or a musty odor. You might even hear a whistling noise from the vents if something larger gets into your vents. Lastly, if you ignore this filter for too long it can develop mold spores that can effect you and or your passengers health. The best way to maintain that fresh air is to visit Orozco’s Auto Service and allow one of their certified ASE mechanics to check and possibly replace the filter at your vehicle’s manufacturer’s recommended intervals.

If you are concerned about your air filters or you would like to have them inspected call or visit Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Remember to always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Learn All About Catalytic Converter Repair

Catalytic Converter Repair

Long Beach, Downtown Catalytic Converter Repair

Catalytic converters are a crucial component of a vehicle’s exhaust system found in most modern vehicles. Their function is to convert harmful particles in exhaust gases into harmless water vapor and CO2 through a catalyst, usually made of precious metals such as platinum, rhodium, or palladium, making it a valuable item for theft.

Fixing a catalytic converter is a challenging process that involves welding and should be done by experienced professionals like Orozco’s Auto Service in Long Beach, Downtown. It may also involve replacing the vehicle’s oxygen sensors. The main cause of a damaged catalytic converter is short trips that don’t allow the exhaust to reach high temperatures for adequate burn off of deposits. To prevent this, it’s recommended to take the vehicle for a 15-minute highway drive regularly.

Indicators of a failing catalytic converter include a check engine light, reduced power and fuel efficiency, a sulfurous odor, backfiring or misfiring, and a rough engine. If the converter isn’t functioning properly, the check engine light will turn on and the engine’s performance and fuel efficiency will decrease. If the converter becomes severely clogged, the check engine light will flash and the engine may stall or not start, potentially causing internal engine damage from back pressure. A vehicle with a faulty catalytic converter will fail a smog test and cannot be registered.

At Orozco’s Auto Service in Long Beach, Downtown, we advise addressing any catalytic converter problems promptly to avoid costly repairs and engine damage. Regular maintenance, including highway drives, can extend the converter’s lifespan and save money in the long run. If you suspect your catalytic converter is not functioning properly, Orozco’s Auto Service can help. Our ASE certified auto mechanics have been trained to repair all types of vehicles and we will always back up those repair with our 24/24 nationwide guarantee. Info About Oxygen Sensor Repair

Oxygen Sensor Repair

Long Beach, Downtown Oxygen Sensor Repair

The oxygen sensor plays a crucial role in a vehicle’s exhaust system, impacting emissions and the environment. Unfortunately, many Long Beach, Downtown drivers do not fully understand its significance.

This sensor, roughly the size of a spark plug, has a lifespan of 35,000 to 50,000 miles and can activate the “check engine” light and reduce fuel efficiency when it fails.

Most vehicles have at least one oxygen sensor that measures the difference in oxygen levels between the exhaust gas and outside air. It then sends a voltage signal to the car’s computer, which adjusts the air-fuel mixture to optimize engine performance.

A malfunctioning sensor can result in increased emissions, poor fuel efficiency, and deposits in the engine. It can even damage other components like the catalytic converter, leading to more significant issues in the future.

Fortunately, Orozco’s Auto Service in Long Beach, Downtown has certified ASE technicians equipped with diagnostic tools to detect and replace faulty oxygen sensors quickly. Keeping vehicles well-maintained and ensuring the oxygen sensor is functioning correctly can help drivers optimize fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and protect the environment while improving air quality for everyone.

If you are concerned about your oxygen sensor or you would like to have your vehicle diagnosed call or visit Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Remember to always keep your vehicle in good condition and ensure the safety of yourself, your loved ones, and those around you!

Fuel Injector Repair Repair With The Pros

Fuel Injector Repair

Long Beach, Downtown Fuel Injector Repair

Long Beach, Downtown Fuel Injector Repair. It is crucial for drivers to understand the importance of maintaining a properly functioning fuel injector. The fuel injector, which is responsible for electronically injecting the correct amount of gasoline into the engine for optimal combustion, is a critical component of a vehicle. Failure to keep the fuel injection system in good condition can lead to engine damage over time.

Here are some signs that indicate the need for fuel injection repair:

  1. Knocking sounds and excessive vibration: These issues are caused by a partially blocked fuel injector that does not allow enough fuel into the engine cylinder.
  2. Engine misfire and engine management light: A faulty fuel injector can cause the engine to misfire and trigger the engine management light. Depending on which injector is affected, different management lights may illuminate.
  3. Starting trouble or inability to start: A leaky injector can cause fuel pressure in the fuel rail to decrease, preventing the engine from starting. Unburnt gasoline coming from the engine bay may indicate a leaky fuel injector.
  4. Decreased fuel efficiency: A malfunctioning fuel injector can cause the engine control unit to over-fuel, leading to decreased fuel efficiency.
  5. Decreased engine torque, acceleration, and power: A poorly performing fuel injector can affect the engine’s performance, even if the injectors are just dirty.
  6. Issues with the injector solenoid: A faulty solenoid at the top of the fuel injector can cause problems as it generates a magnetic field that opens the injector.

Regular maintenance and timely fuel injector repairs are crucial for keeping engine components in good working order. With proper care, a fuel injector can last the lifetime of the engine. Long Beach, Downtown, California drivers should be particularly mindful of maintaining a properly functioning fuel injector.

If your vehicle is showing any of the above signs or you believe your vehicle’s oxygen sensor isn’t working or are not sure and would like to have your vehicle inspected, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach, Downtown today at 562-426-6322. Now You Know, Orozco’s Can Replace Windshield Wipers

Replace Windshield Wipers

Long Beach Downtown Replace Windshield Wipers

Long Beach Downtown in California is known for its sunny climate, but residents may still experience occasional rain showers. Unfortunately, many drivers fail to maintain their windshield wipers due to the infrequency of precipitation. This can create a dangerous situation when they get caught in a downpour with ineffective wipers, resulting in a blurry view of the road. To prevent this, it’s essential to maintain wiper blades regularly, just like checking tire pressure or refueling.

At Orozco’s Auto Service in Long Beach Downtown, we include a check of the condition of windshield wipers during every service appointment. We assess the quality of your wipers and recommend replacement if necessary to ensure that you’re not caught off guard with ineffective wipers during the rain.

Although windshield wipers last for six months to a year during Long Beach Downtown’s hot summers, you should practice good wiper maintenance habits, even if your wiper blades are several years old.

You can tell when your wipers need replacing by looking for streaks on the windshield and worn rubber on the blades. Worn blades can leave streaks and shudder as they sweep across the windshield. The rubber on your wiper blades should be pliable and free of cracks or tears. If it’s not, then it’s time to replace them.

If you’re worried about the condition of your windshield wipers or would like them inspected, call Orozco’s Auto Service of Long Beach Downtown at 562-426-6322. By keeping your vehicle in good condition, you’ll ensure your safety, as well as the safety of your loved ones and those around you!

Understanding Automotive Fuel System Service

Automotive Fuel System Service

Long Beach Downtown Automotive Fuel System Service

In the heart of Long Beach’s Downtown area, drivers frequently find themselves spending significant amounts of time within their vehicles. This emphasizes the crucial role of a well-functioning fuel system in ensuring a seamless and delightful driving experience. A real-life situation that unfolded in Bellflower serves as a concrete example of the dire consequences that can arise from a flawed fuel system. Imagine gliding along charming streets when suddenly your vehicle begins to hesitate and emit uneven sounds. Accompanying this, you might detect a decrease in engine potency, a drop in fuel efficiency, and an unexpected odor of gasoline.

This particular scenario serves as a cautionary tale about the potential issues that can arise within a fuel system. Various factors, ranging from obstructed fuel filters and malfunctioning fuel pumps to faulty fuel injectors, can all contribute to the malfunction of the fuel system. When these components fail to provide the necessary fuel to the engine, the overall driving experience can be compromised, and there’s even the risk of causing lasting harm to the car’s engine. The fuel system holds a pivotal role in maintaining the car’s performance by ensuring that fuel is efficiently delivered to the engine.

Should your fuel system require attention, you might notice the following indications:

Engine Misfires: A defective fuel system can result in irregular engine performance, vibrations, and potential engine harm if left unresolved.
Reduced Power and Acceleration: Sluggish responses when accelerating or a significant reduction in engine power might be indicative of fuel system complications.

Inefficient Fuel Consumption: Diminished fuel efficiency could imply that the fuel system is not delivering fuel optimally to the engine, leading to wasted fuel and increased expenses.

Best Oil Leak Repair in Long Beach, CA

Bellflower Oil Leak Repair at Orozco's Auto Service

In picturesque Downtown Long Beach, California, residents often grapple with the vexing issue of engine oil leaks in their cars. Few things are as disheartening as stepping out to your vehicle in the morning, only to discover a mysterious fluid stain sullying your otherwise pristine driveway. This commonplace automotive predicament can swiftly escalate if left unaddressed. Recognizing the warning signs, identifying indicators of a brake fluid leak, and promptly seeking assistance from trusted auto experts, such as the skilled mechanics at Orozco’s Auto Service, can make a substantial difference in safeguarding your vehicle’s longevity and on-road safety.

Indications of an Engine Oil Leak:

Oil Puddles Beneath Your Vehicle: A telltale sign of an engine oil leak manifests as dark, thick fluid puddles beneath your car, often visible in your driveway or parking space.

Pungent Burning Odor: An engine oil leak can cause oil to drip onto heated engine components, producing a distinctive burning scent. Detecting this odor while driving or after parking may indicate an oil leak.

Insufficient Oil Levels: Regularly inspecting your vehicle’s oil levels using the dipstick is crucial. Consistently low oil levels between oil changes could signal a leak.

Smoke or Steam Emanating from the Engine: When engine oil comes into contact with hot engine parts, it can generate smoke or steam. If you observe either of these emerging from beneath the hood, it’s time for further investigation.

Signs of Brake Fluid Leakage:

Spongy Brake Pedal: A soft or sinking brake pedal when pressure is applied could be a sign of a brake fluid leak. This is a critical safety issue that demands immediate attention.

Dashboard Warning Lights: Modern vehicles are equipped with dashboard warning lights for various systems, including the brake system. If a warning light related to low brake fluid level illuminates, it could be due to a leak.

Visible Brake Fluid Under the Car: Similar to engine oil leaks, brake fluid leaks can leave puddles beneath your vehicle. Brake fluid typically appears clear or slightly yellow, so if you spot a clear, oily liquid beneath your car, it may be brake fluid.

When you encounter these symptoms or signs, entrusting your vehicle to professionals capable of expertly addressing oil leaks is imperative. In Downtown Long Beach, Orozco’s Auto Service stands out as a reliable and esteemed choice for tackling these issues.

Be sure to keep your car’s records. Put these records in the glove compartment in your car for easy access. The auto mechanic will need to refer to these records. This will allow them to figure out what the issues are quickly.

TIP! Before you bring your car to a repair shop, try to determine what is wrong with your car. You can save lots of money if you can diagnose the problem yourself.

Keep a spare tire and jack in your trunk. If you purchase a new car, you should have these in your trunk. Having these items will allow you to change a tire and get back on the road quickly, which is helpful when you are stuck in a dangerous location. It’s far more convenient and less costly to take care of it yourself.

TIP! Check and make sure that your mechanic is familiar with working on your type of car. There can be a lot of differences between vehicles, even though the base components are similar.

Check around for a reputable mechanic by asking friends who are happy with their mechanic. They may have learned through experience but still be competent, and are likely to have a lower labor rate. Next time your car is in need of repairs, ask around for referrals for an unlicensed but fabulous mechanic.

TIP! Get together a kit for car repairs that you can keep in your vehicle. You will want to have the tools necessary to change a tire, and they likely came with the vehicle.

With these tips, you should be better equipped to handle any car repairs that creep up. Therefore, anytime you experience car problems, you should be able to fix them or be able to find a professional who can do this for you. Your car will run well for many years to come!
